Creand Wealth Management appoints Javier Castellanos as the new regional director for Madrid
He will head up business planning and strategy development to consolidate the firm’s position as a leading private bank in Madrid.
Creand Wealth Management, the private banking specialist, has appointed Javier Castellanos as the new regional director for Madrid.
His appointment aims to drive business growth in the Madrid area and expand the team of professionals. Castellanos, who will report directly to Aránzazu Griñán (Assistant General Manager and Head of the Business Division), will be in charge of business planning and strategy to consolidate Creand Wealth Management as a benchmark of the private banking segment in Madrid.
Javier Castellanos, who boasts over two decades of experience in the sector, joins from Banco Santander, where he was Regional Director for Corporate and Business Clients. During his more than 12-year tenure at the bank, he has also served as the Director of Major Accounts and as a Wealth Manager. Castellanos has previously held different senior management positions at Banesto and he was Regional Director at Barclays.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from ESIC. He also holds a master’s degree in International Relations from IE Business School, another in Capital Markets from the University of Cantabria, and a third in Corporate Finance from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB).

Growth of 20% in the Madrid region
Creand Wealth Management’s business in the Madrid region grew 20% in the 2023 financial year to EUR 2.498 billion. This represents 60% of the bank’s total business in the Spanish market. The 2024-2026 strategic plan, which the Creand Group presented at the beginning of the year internationally, aims to achieve a business volume of over EUR 6 billion for Spain by the end of the 2026 financial year.
