As it nears the 40th anniversary of its establishment, Creand Fundació has grown to become one of the leading private foundations in the country, both in the number of programmes it develops and in the resources it allocates. Creand Fundació—created in 1987 with the launch of a scholarship programme for the country’s youth—has evolved throughout this time to adapt to the changing needs of Andorran society.
It has never lost that initial spirit of improving the quality of life and development in people and, today, it has three fundamental pillars, the result of this very evolution. Knowledge, with dissemination, awareness-raising and training activities, especially for people over 50; culture, which takes music to all types of groups within our society, and social work, through which we collaborate with entities and social organisations that improve the quality of life for people in vulnerable situations.
These three pillars do not function in isolation, they are interrelated and reinforce one another. When knowledge is comprehensively shared with a transformative will, it fosters judgement, a critical spirit and analytical capacity among citizens. When culture is promoted with sensitivity and a broad perspective, it reinforces the sense of belonging and creates meeting spaces between generations. And when social work is carried out with responsibility and proximity, it contributes to tangibly improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable sections of our society.
This coherence between thought, action and commitment is what gives solidity to our founding project. It’s about more than promoting specific initiatives, it’s about building a trajectory that can be sustained over time, based on actively listening to social needs and on the constant evaluation of the impact it generates. The real value of a foundation like ours is measured in its ability to generate trust, establish alliances with entities in the country and adapt to new challenges with a strategic vision. In this sense, the continuity and quality of the programmes it develops reflect a way of understanding corporate responsibility as a deep commitment to the social and cultural development of the country. As a result, the foundation becomes a space for connection between institutions, professionals and citizens, which reinforces a collaborative network that amplifies the impact of each action.
