Juan Antonio Samaranch joins the Board of Directors of Creand Wealth Management

He will assume the role of a non-executive board member of the company, which has established itself in recent years as a leading entity in private banking and wealth management in Spain.

Creand Wealth Management, a company specialising in private banking within the Creand group, has announced the appointment of Juan Antonio Samaranch as a non-executive board member of its Board of Directors, chaired by Diego Fernández de Henestrosa Argüelles.

This appointment forms part of a restructuring of the company’s Board, which has seen the departure of Ignacio Garcia Nieto and Alfonso Maristany, who previously served as non-executive members, and Rafael Añó, who served as an executive member and will continue to be associated with the company as an external agent.

Juan Antonio Samaranch is the CEO and founding partner of GBS Finance. Two years ago, Creand Wealth Management acquired GBS Finanzas Investcapital A.V., the securities firm of GBS Finance, which specialises in advising high-net-worth clients and family offices. Following the acquisition, Creand Wealth Management integrated the business of GBS Finanzas Investcapital A.V. into a newly established Family Office division.

Before founding GBS Finance, Samaranch also served as Chief Financial Officer of International Flavors & Fragrances, worked as a financial analyst at The First Boston Corporation, and held the position of Vice President at S.G. Warburg España. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Barcelona, an MBA from New York University, and an honorary Doctorate in Law from Handong Global University.

Following this restructuring, the Board of Directors of Creand Wealth Management will be composed of: Diego Fernández de Henestrosa Argüelles as non-executive chairman; Xavier Cornella Castel as non-executive vice chairman; Marcos Ojeda García as CEO; Isabel Dutilh Carvajal and Javier Lapastora Turpín as independent directors; Esteban Jorge Estévez Zurita, Borja García-Nieto Portabella and Juan Antonio Samaranch as non-executive members; Guillermo Guerra Martín as non-director secretary; and José Canalejas Merín as deputy non-director secretary.
