This is a very special year for Creand Crèdit Andorrà, as we celebrate our 75th anniversary.
The milestone is the perfect opportunity to reflect with a long-term perspective, looking beyond short-term fluctuations to appreciate the bigger picture of everything we have built over the past three-quarters of a century.
These 75 years are about more than numbers; they represent countless stories, emotions and ambitions shared with our customers, employees and shareholders. And, of course, with the country itself. It all started with the vision and determination of a group of Andorran entrepreneurs who believed the Principality needed a bank that was open, accessible and truly connected to its people. And that vision became a reality. That first Crèdit Andorrà office was humble yet full of hope, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey—one that was as much about people and community as it was about business.
Since those early days in 1950, Creand Crèdit Andorrà has grown into a modern institution, adapting to the times while staying true to its founding goal of being close and connected to its customers, with a firmly established presence across all the country’s parishes. Technological advancements have transformed our products and services, but our unwavering commitment to human connection remains at the heart of everything we do.
These 75 years are a tapestry of stories that count, stories of so many people. Personal journeys, family legacies and business ventures in which the bank has played an active role, stories that make us truly proud. At the defining moments of every story, the bank was there. When it came to supporting strategic sectors essential to the country’s development (snow, tourism, entrepreneurship and trade), the bank was there. When the mission was to drive Andorra’s economic and social progress, we were there.
Today, under our new brand, Creand, we face the future with ambition and a clear strategy for international expansion, without losing sight of our roots. We are entering a new era, one that is driven by innovation, digitalisation and sustainability—values that are now essential to ensuring a prosperous and responsible future.
I cannot pass up the opportunity, on this very special anniversary, to express my heartfelt gratitude to the thousands of people who, over the years, have placed their trust, dedication and commitment in Creand, helping to shape it into a leading financial institution in Andorra. Without their contribution, this story, our story, would not have been possible. I am, of course, talking about our shareholders, customers, suppliers and employees.
I’d like to take a moment to focus on the employees. Throughout the years, we have always believed that people are the true driving force behind any company. With their professionalism and spirit, they have shaped every chapter of this story, day by day. They are the ones who have been there for our customers, supporting their needs and helping bring their projects to life. It is thanks to them, and the trust of our customers and shareholders, that we have been able to uphold a commitment to Andorra that extends far beyond banking and financial services. We have been able to create real value for our community by actively participating in social, educational, cultural and sporting initiatives. In this effort, our Foundation has played a crucial role.
A book, soon to be published, will trace our journey from the very beginning to the present day: from Crèdit Andorrà to Creand. Its pages will offer an in-depth look at our history, which is fundamentally a story of believing in our country, creating opportunities and moving forwards together to embrace new challenges.
With profound gratitude and excitement for the future ahead, I know that we will continue writing new stories together.
